The Parish top of page
general info
  • The Parish at House of Blues is a 400 capacity venue immediately adjacent to the House of Blues club and restaurant. The goal of this venue will be to offer many artists and their audience a more intimate experience than can be accomplished in the 1000 capacity main room. Although this is a smaller room, the production value will be maintained at a level that House of Blues has become known for. Any special needs should be addressed as soon as possible after reviewing this information.
  • A few observations on this room: We are surely aware that you have heard this before, but this is a very small room with low ceilings and a very “live” feel. The sound system in this room is more than adequate for this room and, in fact, was the FOH system in our L.A. club, 1200 capacity, for years. There are no sidefills, sorry. If your band is really loud, then you know what you are dealing with here. We will do everything possible to assist you to have a great show, but the room and stage are what they are!
dressing rooms
  • There is one dressing room for The Parish venue located on the 1st floor of the building. Access is via an elevator in the 2nd floor kitchen located behind the stage. This is a restricted access area and we will ask that you please limit backstage access to only necessary band and crew.
catering and meals
  • All catering and meals are "in-house". We do not do buy-outs. Meals will be via HOB restaurant meal tickets or buffet, depending on the size of the entourage.
  • Please try to have any food orders placed before 10:30 pm. HOB will try to honor any "reasonable" request.
  • Please do not assume that because it is "in the rider" that it will be "in the dressing room"!
  • Please advance your needs with production manager.
  • HOB will provide an experienced server in the dressing room area to assist with hospitality needs. Please take care of this person as he/she is there to help take care of you. Tip your server!
directions and parking
  • House of Blues, New Orleans is located in the historic French Quarter district. Due to local preservation ordinances, there are only a few approved routes for buses and trucks to get to HOB. Any deviations from these routes can lead to heavy fines for the driver as well as huge traffic problems. Please call Chopper at HOB if you have any doubt as to the route you are about to take.
  • Parking in the French Quarter area is also restricted by local ordinance. Parking in front of HOB will only be allowed after consulting with HOB production mgr. HOB cannot guarantee parking for tour buses. Please do not assume that because your driver has parked here on previous occasions that it will be allowed every time.

    • Directions to HOB from points East, heading West on I-10:
    • Elysian Fields Avenue exit
    • Left onto Elysian Fields Ave.
    • Take Elysian Fields Ave to its end at the riverfront
    • Bear right for one block to Esplanade Ave
    • Turn right onto Esplanade Ave.
    • Go one block to the first light, Decatur St.
    • Turn left onto Decaturo Proceed to 225 Decatur St. HOB is on the right.

Directions from points West, heading East on I-10:
    • Esplanade Ave exit puts you down onto N. Claiborne Ave.
    • Continue on N. Claiborne Ave. to Elysian Fields ave.
    • Turn right onto Elysian Fields Ave.
    • Follow directions from above to HOB.

  • Do not try to turn onto Esplanade Ave from N. Claiborne Ave. This is not an approved bus and truck route and low trees may damage your bus or truck!
  • Vans and small trucks should follow this route also so as not to become confused and lost on New Orleans winding streets!
load in
  • Load in is via the front Decatur St. entrance into an elevator to the 2nd floor. Please ask for assistance before operating elevator. Please call to advance parking.
audio and/or video taping
  • Please advance w/ HOB Production Manager
  • All requests for audio and/or video recording, regardless of format (cassette, DAT, video, hard disk, multi track, etc.) must be approved in advance! Audio recording for archival purposes will be allowed only to a stereo format. No multi track without prior approval pending authorized release paperwork to be signed day of show. Photo, video, and/or multi track requests should be forwarded to:
         Aron Levine
         Director of Production & Distribution
